A new name for the next stage

JG Floors is becoming Guild Floors

Guild Floors

The new identity, rolling out through autumn 2026

Guild Floors is the new name for JG Floors. The company, the team and the standards behind it are unchanged. The name has changed because the business has grown into something the old one no longer described.

Why the name has changed

JG Floors carried the initials of its founder, James Gillett. When the company began, that was an accurate description of it.

It is not an accurate description today. The company has grown into a team, and more than half of the work it delivers is commercial: offices, schools, healthcare, hospitality and multi-site estates, much of it delivered through main contractors and to programme.

A name built from one person's initials had started to understate both the people doing the work and the scale of the contracts they deliver.

What we are investing in

The new name sits alongside continued investment in the things that decide whether a contract runs well:

What it means if you work with us

For commercial clients, main contractors and partners. Contracts, quotations and programmes already agreed with JG Floors Ltd are unaffected. The company behind them is the same, with the same registration, the same insurance and the same team. Guild Floors is the trading name of JG Floors Ltd, so anything already in writing stands exactly as written. Nothing changes in how we tender, price or run a job.

For homeowners. The same fitters, the same fixed quotation before work starts, and the same people answering when you call.

Where the name comes from

A guild was a body of tradespeople organised around a standard. Membership was earned through the quality of the work, and the guild's name on a job was a statement about that quality.

That is the intention behind the name, and the standard we intend to be measured against.

What changes, and what does not

Unchanged

  • The company, its registration and its insurance
  • The team, and the standards they work to
  • Quotations, contracts and booked work, honoured as agreed
  • Guarantees and warranties already given
  • The phone numbers and email addresses you already use

Changing

  • The company name and identity, on vehicles and documentation
  • A new website at guildfloors.co.uk
  • Workwear, as current kit is replaced

Timing

The change is being made in stages through autumn 2026, beginning with vehicles and moving through the website, documentation and workwear.

Both names will appear alongside one another during the transition. That is deliberate, so that clients and contractors who know the company as JG Floors are never in any doubt about who they are dealing with.

The identity

Built to be recognised on a site, on a van and on a tender

The identity was designed around where it actually gets seen. On the side of a vehicle at forty miles an hour, at the top of a quotation, and on a hoarding outside a live site.
